After studying medicine in Florence, Italy, Filippo completed a PhD in Experimental Psychology in Cambridge. He then trained in clinical psychiatry in Cambridge and London, including lectureships in General Adult (Royal Free & UCL) and in Addiction (St George's Medical School) Psychiatry. He worked as consultant psychiatrist in addiction in the NHS before starting in private practice in 2013. His main academic interests have been in translational research, such as the use of neuropsychological tools to improve outcomes in addiction treatment and the application of insights from preclinical science to medication-assisted psychotherapy.
